Andrew Farkas 2003-2006: Andrew joined the laboratory to pursue electrophysiological experiments. Thus far he has been forced into neuroanatomical and behavioral work in the Jungle.
Andrew is in Medical school at U.Penn.

 Eric Tan
2001-2006: Eric helped set up the laboratory, and eventually went on to earn a Master's degree. His
thesis involved behavioral and electrophsyiological studies in the laboratory and in
the upper Amazon jungle of Ecuador.
Eric attends Johns Hopkins medical school.

 Jonathan Nizar
2001-2004: Jon helped set up the laboratory. He was involved in behavioral, electrophysiological, and
neuroanatomical experiments. A budding academic lost to medicine!
Jon is happily attending UCSD medical school.
| John Ramcharitar
2003-2005: John was a post-doctoral fellow. He earned his PhD in Professor Art Popper's lab where
he studied the evolution and functional aspects of Sciaenid ears. John's work in the laboratory
focussed on the electrophysiology of midbrain neurons.
John is now an assistant professor at St. Mary's College.

 Fayola Peters
2005: Fayola won a Howard Hughes summer scholarship to conduct research in the laboratory. Her
work focussed on quantitative analyses of electrophysiological data.
Fayola is an undergraduate student at Coppin State.
|
 Karen Lopez
2003-2004: Karen attended the Ecuador and Galapagos Islands course as a freshman. She
worked in the lab directly with the fish, and did a fellowship at Mote Marine laboratory.
Karen is an undergraduate who intends to enroll in veterinary school.

 Gabe Tonkin
2003-2004: Gabe is a runner who did surgeries and behavioral monitoring for the zebra finch
devocalization project. Gabe is currently in Quito, Ecuador volunteering at CENIT.
| Jason Hampton
2003-2004: Jason was a graduate student insterested in the evolution of brain and behavior.
He worked on the behavior of South American pulse-type weakly electric fishes.
Jason is currently working in a related field of neuroscience.
|
 Fu Chen
2004-2006: Fu Chen is a graduate student from Beijing China. He is interested in a very
broad set of issues relating to the evolution of behavior. He
is currently studying the genetics of bees.
|
 Lionel McIntosh
2003-2005: Lionel earned credit in the laboratory by helping with animal husbandry.
Lionel was the first recipient of the Edward St. George Memorial Scholarship Award and is on his way to completing training in Neurosurgery.
