My students and I investigate human visual perception and attention, and how the brain makes vision possible. We ask questions about how the visual system creates representations of objects and selects important or salient perceptual information for access to awareness. Our recent experiments have focused on the neural mechanisms of attentional and cognitive control using both behavioral measures (e.g., response time and accuracy) and neuroimaging measures (functional MRI).

For more information about our research, visit my lab's web site. If you're interested in vision, you might want to take a look at this compilation of classic readings in visual perception.
